Patient Participation Group
Lambourn surgery have an active patient participation group. The purpose of the group is to represent the views of the village and surrounding catchment with regard to the surgery. They will ensure any issues raised are aired at the quarterly meetings. They are also kept informed of any developments and news from the surgery. There is always a representative of the surgery present at the meeting.
If you are interested in joining the group please contact the surgery, and we will put you in touch with one of the committee members.
The minutes of the meetings are written by the committee not the surgery. They do not reflect surgery opinion or views unless stated.
Minutes from the meeting of the committee held on the 16th of January 2012. Members present:
Dr Jones, Louise Murray-Clarke, Jane McCarthy, Peter Iveson, Brian Delaney, Annabel Owen, Liz Saunders and Lyn Ellins
Apologies: Jenny Bray could not get into the car - iced up!
Minutes of the October meeting had been distributed and were approved.
Matters Arising. Corrections were made. That is was S Batchelor who had retired
NHS Patients panel - The whole meeting was taken up with discussion after Corrine Yates from the Health Authority declared that the PCT was pulling out of committees such as the PP and no longer would Cath Price be present at the meetings therefore not able to take the minutes etc.. or liaise with the PCT on behalf of the PP.Penny Henrian and Kamal Bahia, on behalf of the CCG said they would become responsible for interaction with the public when the CCG is fully formed but were not keen to promise anything at the moment. The summing up of the meeting was that the PP had just begun to have an impact - but now where does it go without direct contact with the PCT or CCG? In theory it can ask anybody from Health to come and speak to the meeting but the subjects raised by the different PPGs are so varied, it will be difficult to ask anyone to come and speak whereas Cath had liaised with members in the past. It was agreed that not enough communication on all fronts was being implemented
Surgery Report - Everybody is exhausted after the new Clinical System has been implemented and re-learnt. All in codes now - so a lot of learning to do and at the moment service may be a little slow - but it will improve! Caroline Ward is leaving this month and to be replaced by 2 members of staff in August. PRG now has about 50 members but only a few of those reply to the questionnaire. The statistics from the questionnaire were shown by Louise and it might be worth publishing in the Surgery including Monday after 6.30 pm. The forms to fill in for PRG are at Reception.Improvements included upgrade the children's corner in the waiting room and perhaps give the number of people ahead of you in the queue on the telephone.
Any other business. Peter Iveson informed us that it is going to cost the Parish Council £22,000.00 over 3 years to upgrade to "superfast" broad band which the council are going to pay for and Graham Jones has said the money will be refunded if it does not go ahead.
Date of the next meeting: Monday April 16th 2012 at the Surgery at 6.30pm
